  • Bloom is a transformative mentorship and self-reflection program tailored specifically for Black Muslim teenagers. Our primary focus is on nurturing deep, long-lasting bonds among participants while providing guidance, support, and opportunities for self-discovery and personal growth during this critical developmental phase.

  • Our Spiritual and Cultural Connections program runs from May to July, featuring outdoor activities and leisure events followed by spiritual discussions. By combining outdoor experiences with meaningful dialogue, we aim to create a space where young Black Muslim women and girls can openly explore their spirituality, culture, and identity. Our goal is to foster an inclusive environment where participants feel comfortable expressing themselves without fear of judgment based on their level of spirituality.

  • Our Mental Health and Wellness program runs from September to December, coinciding with Mental Health Awareness Month in October and extending through the winter months. With bi-weekly workshops over a 6-week period, we address the challenges of the new school year and seasonal transitions, providing a safe space for open discussions on mental health topics such as depression, anxiety, and coping mechanisms. Our goal is to remove stigma by fostering dialogue and offering practical support through workshops facilitated by health professionals. Participants are encouraged to set and monitor their own health goals, with access to affordable and culturally relevant mental health services if needed, ensuring a supportive environment for their journey towards mental well-being.

  • Our Life Skills Development program runs from January to March, offering workshops and training on essential topics such as leadership, public speaking, productivity, goal setting, professional development, financial literacy, and women empowerment. With a focus on removing social and financial barriers faced by Black youth, we aim to make creative opportunities more accessible to the Black Muslim women community while nurturing their creative spirit and enhancing their personal and professional skills. Hands-on workshops are incorporated to deepen understanding and application of each skill. Participants have the opportunity to apply their strengthened skills to build community, fostering personal and creative growth.

  • Our project, Candid Conversations, aims to provide identity-affirming programming for Black Muslim women and girls to connect, learn, and engage in arts, sports, and recreational activities focused on wellness. Led by community leaders and professionals, workshops will cover mental health, wellness, body positivity, identity reclamation, and the foundations of intersectionality.

Our wellness-based and community building program for young Muslim girls aged 14-29 will be separated into two cohorts (Fall 2023 and Spring 2024) and include age-appropriate artistic and recreational activities to build self-confidence, encouraging physical movement, mindfulness, and community-building.
